Every year, each of the schools in Chesterfield County (elementary, middle, and high school) select two students to be awarded the honor of Student of the Year. The Midlothian Rotary Club puts on a banquet for students every year- every year, that is, except this one.
With the pandemic changing the way events and ceremonies are handled, the Midlothian Rotary Club had to be creative with finding a way to celebrate these fine students. The club decided to put together award packages, create lawn signs, and make some special deliveries.
The students were so excited to receive their awards- and have a sign to announce it to anyone that drives by. It was not the traditional way of making these wonderful kids feel special, but it definitely did the job.
