Meet Ernie Rogers

M800415236

Our club was delighted that Ernie has transferred to our club from the River City Rotary Club!  Ernie was born in Farmville, VA and grew up in the small town of Charlotte Courthouse, VA, before moving to the much larger town of Keyesville, VA.

In high school Ernie “majored in 9-ball and spent his summers busing tables in Ocean City, MD.”  Ernie was in such demand after high school that the Marine Corps sent a gunnery sergeant to the pool hall to sign him up. Ernie spent 4 years in the USMC, and later benefited from the GI Bill for his college education.

Ernie started in the banking business in Oregon, then to Seattle, Hartford, and in 1996 moved back to Virginia, to the thriving metropolis of Richmond.  In 1996 he was employed with Central Fidelity.  After CFB merged with a larger bank, in 1998 Ernie became a real estate auctioneer.

On weekends, Ernie is often assisting with charity auctions.  Ernie has been married 34 years and has a son and daughter. He and his family settled in Midlothian because Bettie Weaver Elementary  School, which at that time ranked  3rd  best in the state.

Meet Todd Knode

M800409835

Todd was born in Annapolis, at the NavalAcademy hospital. He has a twin brother and a younger brother. Todd is single, no kids. Todd grew up in the DC area before becoming an attorney.

Todd worked at two dot.com companies, before they each shut down. He headed out to San Diego, CA for law school, where he met our club member, Chris Winslow.  They bonded in law school, as they were the only conservatives and Washington Redskins fans in law school. Todd shared with our club some amazing experiences he had as an intern with the LA Sheriff’s department. After graduating from law school, Todd passed the California bar and began practicing.  However, the high cost of everything led him to look elsewhere.  He came back to the east coast to Richmond.  He passed the Virginia State Bar and has been in private practice in Richmond for 4 years.
