Karen Scherzer introduced our speaker for the day, Pat Roble. Pat is an Historical Interpreter for the Chesterfield County Museum. The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia was founded in 1981 and is currently operating out of the historic Trinity Church on Iron Bridge Road near the courthouse. Pat’s presentation focused on “Historic Trees of Chesterfield County, VA”. She discussed the VA Big Tree Program, the national tree registration process, the average and maximum lifespan’s of Virginia trees and then shared information about specific trees and their history throughout the county. She concluded her program with pictures and stories of historic trees located in Midlothian.
